Super Troll

Recently, it was brought to my attention that we have a a super hero called Super Troll (@Aloysius_Son) in the halls of xanga. While this news was a bit disturbing to me, I am very confident in my core group. We work for Dan (@thetheologianscafe) and we're his devils.

Off the top of my head, I know of several xangan girls that "meet" in the cafe for our next assignment. You've got "Too Bold Christina" (@BoulderChristina), "Shimmy-Shimmy- Cocoa-Pop" (@shimmerbodycream), "Shoot while they shrug" (@waitingtoshrug) and "Pussycat" (@Angys_coco).

These are only a small list of the army that we have gathered. Yes, my silly little, Super Troll, we are coming after you!

Food Porn

Before rehearsals today, I was speaking to @boulderchristina about my current dilemma. Aside from theatre and politics, my other passion is cooking. I should very much like to work as a cook. The problem? No experience. As I was telling C., I actually offered to work for free for a week. Nope, says the chef. I says to him, well, then, would I be experienced if I had a fast-food joint on my resume? He tells me yes. It's all very frustrating and silly, really, but I shall play this game. Unfortunately, one cannot be creative at these establishments; it is akin to an assembly line.

If you are fond of gazing at food; may I suggest @christao408 (food connossieur extraordinaire), @inciteful (bring on the Latin, baby) and @starmanjones (my sweet little half-blind, creative, and extremely funny chef?) I shouldn't let these boys know that I'm a stalker, but my mouth waters when I see them in front of my screen.

Thought I would show you some of my high octane gulf seafood.....

I was craving grouper, so I baked grouper with some sort of garlic sauce and couscous with peas…

Then I wanted shrimp so I made shrimp Creole.

Wasn’t satisfied, so I had to have some bay scallops. I did some sort of breading and baked them and green beans..

I really wanted to try this snapper Livornese recipe. I did it with some spanish rice.

The boys complained about my pescatarian pecadillos, so I relented with steak fajitas…

Hey! I made them happy… now it was time for more fish! I should’ve plated these as they don’t look as pretty in the packet (oh, pardon me! En papillote!) and you can’t see all the colourful veggies (squash, onions, peppers, mushrooms, potatoes) Oh, well, it was tasty, nonetheless.

For mom’s birthday we all made a side. I made Mexican corn….

I prefer corn grilled in the husk. I’m noticing that the fancier I get with cooking, the more I actually prefer the simple (less is more.) Remind you of anything?

Naturally, because I gravitate to seafood, I had to do grouper Pontchartrain with soft-shell crab........one of my favourites!

Maybe one day, I shall learn to plate and make my dishes look beautiful. Oh, wait! I shall learn all of that at the fast-food restaurant which agrees to hire me!

Floridians are Fun

Oh, crap! Here is the problem with being a computer retard: I have just made a crapload of people my family!!  Well, that is what the silly xanga tells me. So, how does it feel to have me as your sister? Seriously.....how do you you feel, xangans? We are related now, xangans!! Jaysus!! I cannot believe that I have forgotten how to do that friend thingy.....

It just so happens that I’m a native Floridian. When I came across this post today on the FB, I giggled like nobody’s business. Would you believe it is 61 degrees, and I am wearing a sweater, jeans and flip-flops? There is something truly unique about being a Floridian. I truly believe we are our own breed. Now be honest you silly PC boys: Can you not relate?

Typically, I try to avoid politics over here, but there are a few naughty people (@mtngirlsouth, @saturnnights, @soccerdadforlife, @DistrictofCalamity and @blonde_apocalypse) that tend to pull me to my passion.

Well, then, I suppose the argument is that we need gun control to “save the children”. Now it’s time to delve into numbers (things which I dread more than trying to figure out computer thingys, but things that must be brought out into the open, nonetheless.)

Deaths by school shootings: (adults and children) roughly 100 over the past 20 years.  Deaths by child abuse/neglect: (children) 1800 per year. Reckon we aught to ban the man, huh?

Shit, I know I suck at math, but them thar figures are kinda makin some sense to me. But wait! There’s more! (Tonight’s a 2-for-1 special, after all!)  333,964. That’s a big number, right? It is murdered children that we (the worker bees) shall now fund. Ya wanna know the biggest problem with abortion? A little “zygote” is denied his/her unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That’s from the document that preceded the constitution. The founders weren’t dumb. Hell, I’d be dating Sam if I lived in the 18^th century:

Simply put, laws for gun control are a power play. Should you like to see the gun crime statistics of states with strict gun rules as opposed to those without? It is very telling. Here’s a fun pic.:

Now how’s bout some more numbers? We need only to look at the numbers in the UK. New data out from the UK, where guns are banned, shows gun crime has soared by 35 percent.  Meanwhile in the United States, as more and more people own guns, the rate of violent crime has gone down.

Look; the second amendment was specifically placed as one of the most important amendments (Top 5, baby) because it indeed was designed to guard against tyranny.

Oh. Wait. We’re in America. That couldn’t happen here, right? Is that what ya say?

Vexation; it is not guns, but the moral decay of society that is the crux of these incidents. We mustn’t forfeit our constitutional rights for they are based on natural law. Personally, it would be very much like losing my life, and to be quite frank, I’m a bit fond of it.

I shall leave you with a quote that I’m also quite fond of: For the Lord is our judge (Judicial branch), the Lord is our lawgiver (Legislative branch), the Lord is our king (Executive branch) He will save us.

The quote was one of the inspirations for the founding fathers. Oh, it’s Isaiah 33:22 from the Bible. Do not forget the First Commandment (there’s a reason that it’s first):  I am the Lord your God. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourself an idol......especially an American Idol. (I added that last bit.)

Rule 5......Girls with Guns

Yesterday, I was over at @grim_truth 's site bitchin and moanin about our second amendment rights. I could do a post with a shit load of numbers, a shit load of facts and a shit load of quotes. The simple truth is that our founding fathers specifically penned this amendment to guard against a tyrannical govt. I'll make it even more simple for you: Inanimate objects don't kill people. People kill people.

Instead of posting all that stuff here, I thought I would share a post that I wrote at a different site....

Apparently, there were zombies in America. (Born and bred in D.C.!) I was having no part of that!

She claimed boys appreciated girls with guns who liked to fight.

I was worried as I had heard rumours to the contrary.

Then again, I did think I could be really cool and defend my country at the same time!

I must say it was a bit of the Angelina Effect for me.

My husband was not pleased with my grandiose ideas.

He was very emphatic that I would be happier instead with my new boots…

…..and my new gun. I can’t argue.
